W finale Pucharu Ligii Arsenal był murowanym faworytem i dodając do tego brak jakiegokolwiek trofeum od 2005 , fani, zarząd, manager i sami piłkarze nie mogli być bardziej zmotywowani. Jednak przegrali z kretesem, pokazując brak zaangażowania i woli zwycięstwa. Najwyraźniej w Birmingham byli bardziej złaknieni tego pucharu.
In the Carling Cup final Arsenal were all favorite and with no trophy since 2005 , the fans, the board, the manager and the players coudn't be more motivated. However they lost it showing lack of commitment, apparently in Birmingham City there were ones who wanted the cup more.
W Barcelonie był cień szansy na awans ale z kontuzjowanymi w składzie Van Persim i Fabregasem i bez Walcotta było to mało realne. W stolicy Katalonii widzieliśmy różnicę klas gdzie Barcelona wydawała się drużyną z innej planety.
In Barcelona it was a spark of hope for Gunners to go through but playing with injured Van Persie and Fabregas and without Walcott it was little realistic. In capital of Catalonia we saw the different class teams where Barca seemed to be the one from other planet.
I wreszcie mecz o półfinał Pucharu Anglii z odwiecznym wrogiem. Alex Ferguson wystawił w składzie 7 (!) nominalnych obrońców a mimo to nie dal szans Kanonierom wygrywając gładko 2:0.
And finally the FA Cup quarter final against the big enemy. Alex Ferguson designated seven (!) nominal defenders and in spite of it Red Devils won easily 2:0.
Czy Arsene Wenger zamierza wyciągnąć jakiekolwiek wnioski z tych lekcji? Cały świat piłkarski trąbi o brakach Arsenalu praktycznie w każdej formacji, ale Wenger wydaje się chorować na szczególny rodzaj głuch(p)oty mając w głębokim poważaniu resztę świata. Czyżby chciał kandydować na najbardziej upartego menagera w historii futbolu? Przed nim już tylko walka o mistrzostwo Anglii i tylko wygranie go może uratować mu twarz (bo stanowiska raczej nie straci skoro przedłużył ostatnio swój kontrakt z klubem). I jeżeli rzeczywiście tego dokona, będzie to najsłabszy mistrz Anglii od lat.
Is Arsene Wenger going to draw any conclusions from these lessons?
